iPad Apps

The kindergarten class will soon have iPads available in the classroom for students. We just recieved our teacher iPad, and I have begun exploring some apps to use in our class. The one that I am really interested in right now is
I Write Words

This is a pay for app that will show you how to trace uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and even words. After you are done, you throw the little parts into the trash receptical to get a new letter, word, or number.

This is a pay for app, but the lite version has numbers 1-9 which is what we are working on in class currently. There aren't many letters in this version, but many students need practice writing their numbers.
If they use a stylus, it would be almost like using a pencil, but their finger will work too.

The best part about this app, is that it only lets them trace the numbers and letters they way they are supposed to be traced. They can not start at the bottom if they want, they have to do it the proper way or it makes them start over. **Also available on phone.

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog! I plan to use this as a communication tool for the parents in my classroom as well as sharing anything interesting to me in education. This is a work in progress so please bear with me. Thanks for stopping by!
